Religious Tolerance? What A Great Idea!

by Michael Graham June 28, 2007 @ 05:04
I was delighted to see Muslims at Menino's Mosque in Roxbury yesterday were calling for religious tolerance.

"This mosque is intended to be a place that opens its doors and provides opportunities for all religions and all different ethnicities and different communities to find a place of dialogue," said Bilal Kaleem, executive director of the Boston chapter of the Muslim American Society.

That's great, Mr. Kaleem. Do you mean the kind of "opportunities" that non-Muslims enjoy in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, the UAE, etc., etc.? You mean the "opportunities" Jews enjoy in Muslim countries around the world, i.e. the "opportunity" to be blown up or beheaded?

Yeah, when I'm looking for tolerance, the first place I head is my local mosque.

Natural Truth of the Day

“To pity the people of Gaza is to patronize them, in essence implying that they do not control their fate, the state of their government, or their own actions. It is to assume one of two things: Either that Gazans are too stupid to oust the cancerous Hamas presence in their midst, or that they are unable to do so.
